A summer that means something

Academic Summer has been building confident, curious and capable young people since 2010 at Sidcot School in North Somerset.

This is not just childcare. It is not just entertainment. And it is not school in disguise.

This is a carefully designed summer day camp where children learn through doing, grow through trying and come home more confident than when they arrived.

Led by experienced teachers, designed with purpose and delivered with care.

What kids actually do at our day camp

Most summer holiday options keep children busy. We give them an exciting learning adventure.

  • Science experiments and hands-on investigations
  • Drama, public speaking and the confidence to own a room
  • Sport, swimming and adventure on 160 acres of Sidcot’s campus
  • Creative writing, debate and finding and using your voice
  • Critical thinking – how to question, analyse and form your own view
  • Teamwork and leadership through projects, challenges and outdoor activities
  • FA-qualified football coaching for all abilities

The social side – just as important

One of the most powerful things about Academic Summer is who your child learns with. Children from over 60 countries, all different backgrounds, all with something interesting to share.

When everyone is new, belonging happens faster.

There are no cliques at Academic Summer. No established groups your child has to break into. Every child arrives into the same new, international, welcoming community – and that makes friendship surprisingly easy.

For quieter or more introverted children

Small groups mean every child is known by name. Nobody gets lost in the crowd.

For confident, outgoing children

The range of nationalities and personalities is stimulating and exciting.

For home-educated children

This is a chance to build social skills in the most natural, pressure-free environment possible.
